Media Have To Consider Country’s Law, Islamic Values & National Unity

Kabul (BNA) Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Prof. Mohammad Rassoul Bawari in a meeting with the head and members of Afghanistan Journalists Council asked media to consider the country’s laws, Islamic values, national interests and national unity in their broadcasts and publications, BNA reported the other day.
He said his ministry was alongside media and support them in their efforts to provide information, but urged them of respecting the country’s laws, Islamic values and other media related standards, according to the agency.
The acting minister also said the media should be registered and their activities should be legalized, said the agency quoting other participants to have presented their suggestions to the minister.

Member of the Afghanistan Journalists Council also provided information about the media situation in some provinces of the country, including Bambyan, Ghor, Paktia, Maidan Wardak and Laghman and asked the ministry of information and culture for cooperation in this field.
Minister Bawari assured them of doing anything possible with the media as he called it his administration’s responsibility, the agency said.
