Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in a meeting Monday evening with US outgoing ambassador to Kabul John Bass conferred the state medal of Ghazi Mohammad Akbar Khan upon him in recognition of his services. Expressing happiness over fulfilling his mission in Afghanistan, John Bass considered Afghanistan’s success as the success of the US, stressing on his country’s continued efforts towards peaceful future in Afghanistan. According to another report, chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah in a farewell meeting with US outgoing ambassador John Bass appreciated his efforts he has made towards consolidation of relations between US and Afghanistan, strengthening of democracy, supporting civil society organizations, good governance, counter corruption and peace in Afghanistan. The country’s chief executive also praised the US for its assistance to Afghanistan, wishing the US outgoing ambassador further success in his coming missions.
