Kabul (BNA) Honored PhD degree has been granted by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow to President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani. In a ceremony held yesterday on this occasion at Int’l oil and gas university of Ashgabat with participation of a number of officials, lecturers and students of the respective university, chancellor of the university first welcomed President Ghani and his accompanied delegation and considered his presence at the university as an honor for the university. Chancellor of the respective university added that Afghanistan President has played valuable role in expansion of friendly relations between the two countries and praised him for his efforts towards peace and stability. He read out biography of the country’s president to participants in the ceremony and considered his economic programs as valuable, adding that economic plans of President Ghani have laid good basis for the future of Afghanistan. Afterwards, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in his speech praised the Turkmen President for granting him the honored PhD degree of Ashgabat International Oil and Gas University. “Sustainable friendship between the two countries is one of our key goals and enduring policy and each Afghan is happy for the sustainable friendship with Turkmenistan”, President Ghani said. He considered success of the government and people of Turkmenistan as success of Afghanistan, asserting that during the past two years, Turkmenistan has taken responsibility of world leading prestige particularly in implementation of transport plans. The country’s President further said that relations of Afghanistan with Turkmenistan were expanding day by day and the relations would further tighten in future and would never go back. President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani added that Turkmenistan has changed to economic intersections of the region and natural resources of the country could change next generation of the country towards improvement. The country’s President praised the government and people of Turkmenistan for providing higher education facilities to Afghan students and paying particular attention to Afghan students in the respective country. After the ceremony, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani paid a visit to Ashgabat Olympic town determined to be host of holding Asia Olympic competitions next year.
