Standardization of RTA, BNA Discussed With Minister Jahani

Kabul (BNA) A number of civil society members, in their meeting with Minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Bari Jahani discussed some key issues including standardization of the Radio Television of Afghanistan (RTA) and Bakhtar News Agency (BNA), part of what they said the leaders have promised during their electoral campaigns.
Bakthar News Agency reported that representing others, Timor Hakimyar, Head of Culture Foundation and Civil Society and Dr. Habib-ul-Rahman Nang, Chief of Afghanistan Youth’s National Foundation spoke at the meeting asking the minister of information and culture to standardize the only state ran national TV and BNA and provide the members with capacity building.
They also asked the ministry for getting them information of the goal if soon reached, with minister Jahani enumerating some problems, including lack of budget to reach the target.
“An ordinary official of a private TV and media can receive payment higher than a senior official in the RTA and BNA, something could slow down the process of capacity building along other obstacle from the Administrative Reforms Committee. The challenge would pave the ground for fleeing of the experienced cadres from the government media to the private media networks,” the agency reported.
The minister said enough budget had been proposed to the high authorities to prevent flee of the experienced cadres including translators and artists, but no positive result had so far been received.
According to another report, the minister of information and culture met with a number of in charges of Ghazi Ameenullah and heard their suggestions about the installation of a board with the name of Ghazi Ameenullah in the Lahoori avenue, near Chaman-e-Hozoori, where it was named after Ghazi Ameenullah earlier.
Minister Jahani assured them to do his best to address their willing, after speaking about the great national and chivalry personality of the great Ghazi Ameenullah.
