Kabul (BNA) Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the High Urban Development Council held session on Sunday, BNA reported.
At the outset, acting minister of urban development lands, Mohammad Jawad Paikar presented a report on an implementing plan on integration of the ministry for urban development and former administration of lands. After hearing the report, the President said the projects of the ministry for urban development and lands should be properly managed. He added that local and domestic materials should be used in construction of buildings so to further prepare the ground for employment and promote people’s economy. He also stressed on specifying earthquake code for further resistance of the buildings against the earthquake, having soil map to recognize the lands’ resistance and the required materials’ type in buildings’ construction. Stressing that the government is the partner of private sector, the President said the private sector problems in term of investment in the government properties should be addressed and a design center should be established in the ministry of urban development and lands. At the end, the President signed the books and urban drafted framework map and handed over it to the acting Kabul mayor.
