Ministry of Industry and Commerce Aims to Expand Oil Refinery Operations in the Country

 

KABUL (BNA): A meeting chaired by Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi, was held at the ministry with representatives from relevant departments to discuss the establishment of new oil refineries in the country.

According to a statement from the ministry, the focus of the discussion was on the oil extracted from the Qeshqari region and the fuel produced by existing oil refineries in that area.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is committed to finding a solution for the surplus fuel stored in the reserves of the Qeshqari oil refineries.

The Afghan Oil and Gas Company has been tasked with holding discussions with potential investors to establish a new refinery that meets criteria for producing at least 8 types of products.

The results of these discussions are expected to be presented in the next session.
