Thousands of Needy Families Received Aids Across the Country

MEHTARLAM (BNA) Universal and domestic aid organizations remain to assist families in need in Afghanistan.

These organizations in the past 24 hours provided assistance to over 800 needy families across Afghanistan.

The assistance includes food, clothing, household items, hygiene kits, and cash.

The largest amount of aid was witnessed by Laghman and Herat provinces; Nearly 6,000 families were covered by humanitarian aid from philanthropists, the World Food Program, and the World Health Organization.

The Herat Media Office said in a news release that food, cooking oil, and rice was distributed to 5,500 families in need during a recent survey.

Same like, more than 2,000 other families in Helmand, Paktika, Paktia, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Nimroz, and Logar have been covered by the humanitarian aid and domestic humanitarian aid organizations such as the World Migration Organization, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Food Program and Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations and the Disaster for management.

The economic and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan has posed a serious challenge to families in need.

World Food Organization says more than half of Afghanistan’s 36 million people need urgent food aid.
