Gazargah Noor Delegation Calls On Qanooni, Demands More Assistance

Kabul (BNA) A delegation of the flood affected Gazargah Noor district, Baghlan province called on first vice president Mohammad Younus Qanooni yesterday and demanded more humanitarian assistance to the affected people. 
BNA reported, the First vice president had assured the delegation that efforts are underway to extend more assistance to the people there. Speaking on behalf of others, a member of the delegation said that the flood had washed away everything from the people. According to reports, 75 km road, 1500 homes, 13 small power generating dams, five bridges, some 70000 trees, 19 mosques, a school and an animal clinic had been washed away by flood and 89 people had lost their lives whom their bodies had been found while several others are still missing. Qanooni promised that the government besides providing assistance would also consider construction of a township to the affected people there.
