MoIC Supports Expansion of Book Offering Center, Dr. Sadat

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Kamal Sadat, Acting Minister of Information and Culture and Deputy to the Youth Affairs looked around the Oksos bookstore located in Dehbori area of the Kabul city, BNA reported the other day.
In a meeting of the bookselling entrepreneurs, the acting minister expressed his ministry’s full support to expansion of bookselling centers in the country and said promotion of book-reading culture was the main priority of the ministry of information and culture, the agency said.
“The youth should resort to book reading as the move would help increase information in various fields, beside their routine opportunities of education and other businesses,” the agency quoted. He said the ministry was in contact with the related sources at home and abroad to provide and publish more books of interest and provide to the book fans, according to the agency adding the main aim of the meeting was to encourage the youth to step up towards book reading. Nazem Samoon, a member of the Oksos bookselling publication board praised the attention of the ministry of information and culture and said the culture of book reading had been increased compared to the last years. He asked the ministry for reducing the customs’ tariffs of the raw materials import used in publishing books and prevention violation of the copyrights law in the country, according to the state-ran agency. Ilyas Wardag, a customer called reading of books insight and lack of studying blindness and called for further strengthening of the culture through the related sources.
