Kabul (BNA) The increase of insecurity and instability in Afghanistan occurs in a time that during one year presidency of Donald Trump at the White House the air operations by US forces has been two folded and night operations by US-backed Afghan security forces also has been increased and more aircrafts have been provided to Afghan security forces. Unfortunately, despite of necessary security measures by the foreign and Afghan forces, the security situation is still fragile and for this reason the United States president in his recent remarks has announced his stance on Afghanistan with the UN Security Council Representative. He said that the United States will not participate in any kind of negotiations with the Taliban in the future.
The statements by the Donald Trump were welcomed by the Afghanistan government and the people, and the Afghan government announced its support for this action. Donald Trump’s remarks on the denial of any talks with the Taliban group clearly indicate that the United States is changing the Afghan war, where the Americans earlier claimed that they were supporting the peace talks of the central government and the Taliban, and never Afghanistan internal peace talks was denied by US.
Afghanistan since long decades has been engaged with concern and insecurity and this instability has foreign roots, because the foreign countries hands are involved in the instability of Afghanistan. It is widely believed that the war in Afghanistan is not a civil war, but this war has a large and broad regional and global dimension, because Afghanistan for the geopolitical situation which has always been the competition field for regional and international powers. Undoubtedly, the regional countries can play effective role in the transformation of Afghanistan, because if Afghanistan is insecure, it will also have a direct impact on the security situation in the region and the world.
According to experts, one of the key issues and important for the regional countries is maintaining of peace and stability in Afghanistan, that has worried the regional countries, because they know that no regional interaction and balance without ensuring security in Afghanistan would not be possible. So, on this principle, they are trying to be part of the solution in Afghanistan, but the Afghans expect that Afghanistan should not be a battlefield for regional competitions. Afghanistan, which is located in three major humanitarian areas, such as Central Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, so other countries in the region, such as India and Russia, will also have crucial role. The expectation of the people of Afghanistan from regional countries, even Iran, is to try to honestly cooperate with Afghanistan in various sectors, including economic relations, regional cooperation, peace-building, and the fight against terrorism, because Afghanistan in terms of its location among the regional countries is a connecting point for Central Asian countries.
The regional countries can have close relations with Afghanistan when they show their commitment to this country, in particular Pakistan, which has never been honest with its commitments towards Afghanistan, while the Afghan government has repeatedly had a clear position towards its neighbors, but unfortunately, Pakistan at the level of the region has known as terrorist groups sponsored country and the Afghan people are urging the international community, especially the United States, to exert necessary political pressure on this country. Unfortunately, in recent years insecurity unprecedentedly worsened in the country, because Afghanistan has been chasing war since three decades and we have a common border with Pakistan which is an interventionist country, and this country does not want Afghanistan to be safe, and as long as this country does not act honestly, peace will not be ensured in Afghanistan.
