Vice President Meets Baghlan Elders

Kabul (BNA) Representative of Baghlan people in parliament Obaidullah Ramin and a number of elders and influential figures of the province called on second Vice President Mohammad Karim Khalili yesterday. 
Presidential press office stated BNA, in the meeting attended also by Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Wais Ahmad Barmak, representative of Baghlan people in parliament briefed related to addressing process to recent flood-affected people in the province, asserting that due to flash floods in a number of areas in the province in particular Guzargah-e-Noor district, more than 80 people had lost their life, 583 residential houses destroyed, 192 other houses partially destroyed and thousands of people had been affected besides destroying agricultural fields, water supply systems and other infrastructures.
He expressed happiness over transferring and providing process of assistance to the affected people, but stressing that flood-affected needed further assistance in various sectors as access to drinking water, resettlement of the displaced and reopening of transportation routes.
Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Wais Ahmad Barmak while describing aid process to the affected people said due to closing roads, aid process to flood-affected was going on through air and serious efforts were underway for reopening the roads connecting to flood-affected areas.
Following, the second Vice President Mohammad Karim Khalili and head of national disaster management authority while offering sympathy to those families who had lost their loved ones in recent floods in Baghlan province, asserting that there was no limitation for providing aid and addressing problems of the affected people.
