Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his reelection as the president of Turkmenistan and wished him success.
Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov won the recent presidential election with 97 percent of the vote.
President Karzai telephoned president Berdimuhamodov to congratulate him on his victory and said the relations between the two countries had expanded during his presidency and hoped it could further develop during his new term.
President Karzai noted that Turkmenistan had advanced greatly under Muhammadov and wished him and the people of Turkmenistan continued prosperity.
The president thanked President Muhammadov for his efforts in consolidating the brotherly relations, economic and trade cooperation between the two counters’.
