Dr. Rassoul Meets Delegation Of Female Members Of Pakistan

Kabul (BNA) Dr. Zalmai Rassoul Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan received a delegation of female members of Parliament and Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
Welcoming the members of Parliament of Pakistan, Dr. Rasoul underscored the role of women in the society’s socio-political development and considered effective the cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries, particularly the consolidation of the relations between the female parliamentarians with regard to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation as well as regional integration. 
The delegation of Pakistan’s Parliament female members also stressed the role of women in marking a bright future for Afghanistan pointed out the role of women and their place in the  peace process, and considered the achievements of Afghan government in the improvement of women’s condition and the promotion of their rights as positive and notable. 
Pointing Afghanistan’s current situation, including the peace and transition processes, Dr. Rasoul underlined the friendship and cooperation between the two nations. 
He pointed out that it is our commitment that the country’s achievements of the past decade, including women’s rights, should not be harmed in the peace process. 
The meeting was also attended by three of the women members of the Afghan Parliament and Director of Human Rights and Women’s International Affairs Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
