Govt. Pursuing Political Parties’ Activities For Restoring Security

Sunday June 5, 2016

Kabul (BNA) Amid growing mayhem and chaos between two rival political parties, even sometimes leading to armed clashes, the oversight commission for implementation of the constitution (OCIC) has asked the ministry of justice to launch investigation into the formations and military activities of the Jamiat-e-Islami and Junbush Islamic National Movement or Junbush.
The plan was made by the government after the two sides’ militiamen resorted to a series of armed conflicts against each other in northern province of Faryab, where at least 10 fighters have been reportedly killed and 15 other wounded, according to Sayed Anwar Sadat, the provincial governor. The government, in order to ensure security in the country, has to investigate into their military activities and financial sources through the related courts; if proved against the constitution article-35 and the parties’ law of article-17, they could be invalidated. This is while the presence of the illegal armed groups would lead to insecurity, kidnaping, armed theft and other types of crimes in the country. The ongoing insecurities could be assessed in two points of views of both internal and foreign.
The foreign point:
Considering its geographical location and rich mine resources, Afghanistan is not let to enjoy peace and security, by some regional powers as they want to politically and economically secure domination on the raw materials rich nation to keep their product market developing.
The internal aspect:
Growing poverty, unemployment, non-implementation of law, lack of a countrywide ruling government and presence of the illegal armed groups, could be called the internal point of the challenge.  In many areas, particularly in the provinces, when the local see wide number of ununiformed armed men (neither police nor army or NDS) commuting around the areas, they get perplexed which groups, they are affiliated with and even they cannot do their daily affairs properly. The presences of the illegal armed men are in many areas, more dangerous than the Taliban militants. Recently theft, house robberies, kidnapping and other crimes have increased in the cities and concerned the citizens, where no threats from the Taliban or Daesh are felt. The government had stepped up to investigation into the two (Jamiat and Junbush) parties’ military activities in a country, with approximately 30 million pollution and 100 registered political parties with the ministry of justice, with each of the house members enjoying illegally more than one bodyguard. No city police could even stop their vehicles for checking. The ministry of interior has the authority not to allow them use more than one bodyguard as it would cause disorder and insecurity in the country, and in some cases leading to misusing the arms in armed theft and house robberies and kidnapping.
The people of Afghanistan want the law to be put into practice in order to prevent the interferences of the regional and world intelligences and bring the illegal powerful men under the umbrella of law something would guarantee the rule of law in the country. The greatest political party within the system – Jamiat-e-Islami led by Salahuddin Rabbani, Afghanistan’s foreign affairs minister and the prominent political party of Junbush-e-Millie, with first vice president, Gen. Dostum on the lead have highly refused to stay abiding by the law and have all their affiliated armed individuals disarmed though the most primarily launched DIAG (Disarmament of the Illegal Armed Groups) process.
The process failed to collect arms from the whole illegal armed men across the country, sending the war-troubled nation continue facing persistent security challenges.
