Afghanistan Home for Miniature Art, Minister Zuhair

Kabul (BNA)  Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, the country’s Acting Minister of Information and Culture has said that Afghanistan was home and the main center of Miniature Art, Bakhtar Information Agency reported the other day.

Speaking via telephone with Hamyoun Azizi, Afghanistan Ambassador to France about the registration of Miniature Art by Iran, Turkey, Republic of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which was recently held at the threshold of 15th meeting of the interstates intangible cultural heritage, Mohammad Tahir Zuhair reiterated for the registration of the Miniature Art as the joint cultural heritage of the regional countries with Afghanistan on the pivot.

The acting minister has already shared the issue about the registration of Afghanistan being as the pivot and main center of the Miniature Art with the UNESCO, according to the agency and has said that it was possible to jointly register with the interested regional countries. The UNESCO has also assured the Ministry of Information and Culture about the registration of Afghanistan as the main source of the art, according to the agency.

The organization, via an email dated July 30, 2020, has also assured of completion of the files about the registration of the Miniature Art until March 2021, under which the pleading countries of the art, can complete the documents and send to the organization. The Ministry of Information and Culture has arranged the documents for the registration of the Miniature Art in the world heritage list and is expected to be sent to the UNESCO via the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry asked the organization for registration of the art as the joint cultural heritage of Afghanistan and the regional countries, with Afghanistan as the main pivot.
