Abdullah Ahead As IEC Announces 10pc of Results

Kabul (BNA) The independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the partial results of the presidential election, with Dr. Abdullah gaining the highest percentage of the ballots, Dr. Ashraf Ghani stood second and Dr. Rassoul in third position. 
According to BNA, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah won first position by winning 212,312 with 41. 9 percent, Dr. Ashraf Ghani, second by 190,561, with 37.6 percent and Dr. Zalmai Rassoul third by 49,821 votes remained in third position, Chief of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), Mohammad Yousuf Nuristani told a news conference.
Meanwhile, Prof. A. Rabb Rassoul Sayyaf stood in fourth position by winning 25,679 votes associating 5.1 percent of the votes, Qutbuddin Helal with 13,536 votes making 2.7 percent of the whole votes, Gul Agha Shirzai with 11,132 votes, Daud Sultanzoye with 2,442 votes 0, 5 percent and Hedayat Amin Arsala with 0, 3 percent remained in fifth, sixth, seven and 8th positions, according to the announced results.
According to the commission, at the 10 percent results announcement period, some 504,843 votes from across 24 provinces of the country had been counted down, with next preliminary results would be announced later.
The results had only been tallied from 24 provinces of the country, with the whole country’s preliminary and final votes results would be See announced later, said Chief IEC, Mohammad Yousuf Nuristani.
The results can be changeable as he said it was not something to be trusted in for the next outcomes, he said. When asked about a possible runoff, he replied if was early to talk about, but assured both IEC and Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) had full preparations if the process goes to a runoff. He said the both commissions had practiced their jobs independently and would do the same in the future.
