Two Key Taliban Commanders Killed in Helmand Strike

Lashkargah (BNA) Two senior Taliban commanders were killed in an airstrike in Helmand.

Mullah Farqani and Malabshir were targeted in their hiding place last night in Bolan area of Lashkargah.

Senior Atal Corps official in south of the country told BNA that the senior Taliban commanders were planning new attacks in Helmand that were targeted by security troops.

He said several Taliban members were also killed in the attack.

Mullah Farqani and Mullah Bashir, the commanders of the Taliban Red unit in Helmand, were cited as the perpetrators of dozens of civilian attacks.

The Taliban have not yet commented.
