Kabul (BNA) UNIMA welcomes the launching of the national gathering of Independent Commission of Elections.
According BNA report UNAMA releasing a news report has said that UNAMA considering the inauguration of national gathering of elections by the independent commission of elections as an important step toward holding a transparent and credible election welcomes the move.
The national gathering aiming to provide a series of advises for reaching consensus on upcoming affairs of election has been established. In ceremony held for the occasion in Kabul, the election commissioners, politicians and civil society activities were attended.
The UN Secretary General envoy’s deputy for Afghanistan in his inaugural speech in the gathering said, “ a valid and credible election is not only an election that has been technically organized properly but is the election its results reflect the will of people.
He added,” giving intensive advising, transparency and honest, impartial and capable mangers are the basic elements that increase the credibility of the process of the election and guarantees its consequences. The UNAMA deputy head who also work as an acting head of UNAMA office committed that the international community would support the preparations for holding the election. He added, the political leaders and candidates have great responsibility toward ensuring the credibility of process of election, the outcome of which is acceptable for people.
The UNAMA official said, “We strongly believe that the election should be hold in order the right of people for electing their representatives be ensured.
He added, “We support holding a transparent and credible election, because it is important for restoring peace and stability in to country and provides the ground for progress and tranquility of people.”
