Awareness Session On Presidential Elections Holds

Kabul (BNA) A session on awareness of people about upcoming elections was held by Deputy Ministry for Youth Affairs of Ministry of Information and Culture and Relief and Rapid Development Organization yesterday.
In the session, deputy minister of youth affairs for information and culture Timor Shah Ishaqzai talking about the role of youths in upcoming elections said, “Youths have a key role in elections process in the country, adding it is not important to whom you are voting, but the important thing is that the youths using their rights should actively take part the elections in the level of capital provinces, districts and villages, in order to meet their responsibilities before the people in the country.”
Addressing the youths he said “You can persuade other youths to go voting centers and vote for nominees for presidential and provincial councils’ elections.”
Ishaqzai said girls were not allowed in a number of districts in the country to go to schools and take part in the elections and vote. Nevertheless, both boys and girls have equal rights and a key role in the elections in the country.
In the session, Dr. Safiullah Jalali, head of public awareness for IEC talking about the differences between the present and previous elections said, “In comparison with the previous elections the experiences of the voters and IEC staff have been increased but in spite of that still we have some problems.
Therefore, to remove the problems the people need more information and awareness about the process of the elections.”
Mohammad Naeem Ayoubi, head of FIFA was another speaker in the session he compliant that even security has not provided for those who are working for IEC. He urged the security authorities to provide the ground for holding transparent, fair and free elections.
