President Ghani Calls For Promotion of Book Reading Culture

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has called for promotion of book reading culture in the country. 
The president in a message read out by advisor to national security, Najibullah Manalai in the opening ceremony of Book Exhibition here yesterday, said with reading book the human being gets familiar with human civilization. The last week of Saur has been celebrated as Book Week and Book Reading by the ministry of information and culture over the past three years and the day of Book Week has also been included in the Afghanistan Calendar.
Special envoy to president on reforms and good governance Ahmad zia Masoud also spoke at the opening ceremony of book exhibition and besides supporting the book exhibition urged the ministry of information and culture to support writers, authors and publishers.
The message of minister of information and culture Abdul Bari Jahani was read out by advisor to the ministry Mohammad Amin Bawari in which the stressed for further promoting the culture of book reading in the country. Minister Jahani in his message emphasized for institutionalization of book reading among the people especially the youth of the land.
Advisor to president on cultural affairs Assadullah Ghazanfar and Ajmal Azim the deputy to the Association of Publishers of Afghanistan also spoke at the ceremony.
