Uzbekistan Invited FM Muttaqi to Attend Regional Economic Conference

KABUL (BNA) Acting Foreign Minister Amir khan Muttaqi met with Uzbekistan’s national security adviser Abdul Aziz Kamilov and the country’s president’s special envoy to Afghanistan Esmatullah Ergashev in his office on Sunday.

In a press release, the Foreign Ministry said that the meeting concentrated on firming economic and transit ties between the two neighboring countries.

The Uzbek national security adviser, Abdul Aziz Kamilov said that regional security is dependent on Afghan security and stability, adding that the Uzbek administration was ready to work to boost political, economic, and transit ties with the Afghan government.

Mr. Kamilov has invited the Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi to attend the forthcoming economic conference that is about to hold in Uzbekistan with the participation of high-ranking officials from the regional countries.

Acting Foreign Minister Amir khan Muttaqi hailed Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the Afghan people and said that there was now a good political space, stressing the political and economic ties expansion.

During the meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi said that it is time for administrations in the region to build their own potential for future development and make the most of existing capacities.

Minister Muttaqi vowed to attend the Uzbek Economic Conference and discuss economic ties with relevant authorities.

Uzbekistan has maintained its political and economic relations with Afghanistan after the fall of the former administration, adding interaction with Islamic Emirate is in the interest of regional countries around the world.
