President Ghani Stresses On Afghan Women’s Key Role In Society

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended a ceremony held to mark March 8th ‘International Women’s Day’ initiated by First Lady Office in Arg, a statement from the presidential palace said the other day.
At the outset, congratulating International Women’s Day to all Afghan women, First Lady highlighted the Afghan women significant role in political and social spheres, according to the statement.
She added youth form 70 percent of Afghanistan’s population and they are supposed to work together to change and improve the situation, the statement added.
First Lady advisor ZuhraYousuf briefed the participants about her office activities and discussed woman historical position in the society.
Separately, head of Afghan women chamber of commerce and industries ManizhaWafiq, deputy to attorney general SeenaShina and Hasina Safi high peace council members congratulated this day to all Afghan women and spoke about Afghan woman specific position, the statement continued.
Likewise, congratulating International Women’s Day to all Afghan women, President Ghani stressed this day should be turned into change from symbolic and destiny-maker decisions should be taken on women’s future.
The president said the society would not continue without active women role and welfare, peace and stability would not ensure without women presence.
Citizen charter program would be implemented in remotest areas of the country and women would play role by 50 percent in these councils, the president said.
Pointing at economic challenges before women, the president said the ground should be paved to women economic growth.
At the end, lauding the Afghan national defense and security forces efforts and sacrifices the president appreciated those women perform duty within security forces’ ranks.
