Kabul (BNA) The London Conference on Afghanistan that focused present future of Afghanistan emphasized on a prosperous and stable Afghanistan.
If the commitments made in the conference be implemented, building a prosperous and stable Afghanistan will be guaranteed.
BNA political analyst, commenting on the issue writes; recently London was the host of international conference, which aimed to assess the economic and security situation of Afghanistan. The conference held in a time, the international combatant forces are leaving the Afghan soil within a couple of days. The remaining limited foreign forces will be only involved in training and advising Afghan security forces. When the program of the withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan started caused a serious concern among Afghanistan and donor countries and they claimed that the security in Afghanistan in lack of foreign forces would be fragile and its weak economy would further weakened.
Happily, the Afghan high-ranking delegation in London conference made it clear that the Afghan government has firm political intension for progress of Afghanistan and these commitments for the progress and ensuring peace and stability led the international community to stand firm as before beside Afghan people. Earlier, to London Conference there were widespread accusations regarding to administrative corruption in Afghanistan and the Afghan government is too weak to curb that heinous phenomenon. But, the strategy and working plan of government regarding fighting against corruption, economic improvement of the country good government, fighting against anti-women violation and finally terrorism and extremism and ensuring friendly relations with neighboring countries and other countries stated by Afghan leadership in London Conference, let no space for concern and made the international community to support and stand with Afghan government and people.
As, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah Executive Chief of National Unity Government of Afghanistan, while inaugurating the conference said, our purpose is achieving the Tokyo commitments. Also, Dr. Ashraf Ghani the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan firmly emphasized in the conference that world community does not have the responsibility of every things in Afghanistan, but it is the Afghan people who bear the responsibility. It is become clear from the President Ghani’s statement that the Afghans are trying hard to reach self-sufficiency in all fields including military. He bluntly stated that we are hopeful that there would be no more need for presence of foreign combatant forces in Afghanistan any more. On the other hand, fighting corruption, money laundry and other illegal activities which have been committed by Afghan unity government will certainly lead to economic development of the country. These commitments made by Afghan President have satisfied the donors to sit beside Afghan people and support them as they did earlier.
As John Kerry the US secretary of state touching on the issue made it clear that the Afghan state has taken firm steps in fighting corruption and money laundry. Finally, the outcomes of London Conference if be implemented as it is committed, will open the door of peace, security and finally it will lead to the prosperity and tranquility of our decades suffering people. The Afghan people are eagerly waiting for implementing the commitments made in London Conference in practice.
