Afghanistan Asks US To Deliver Afghan Prisoners of Guantanamo

Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai met yesterday with William Burns US deputy state secretary at the presidential palace. 
Both sides discussed peace process, security treaty between Afghanistan and the US, Afghan prisoners in Guantanamo, recent clashes between border forces of Afghanistan and Pakistan and regional issues.
President Karzai previously had asked General Danford NATO General Commander and the US ambassador to Kabul to facilitate delivery of the Afghan prisoners from the Guantanamo prison to the Afghan government.
The president once again took up this issue with the US Deputy Secretary of State and asked him that the US government should deliver the Afghan prisoners from the Guantanamo prison to Afghanistan.
In his demand President Karzai emphasized that ensuring of security in Afghanistan is very important for signing of the security treaty between the two nations and the US should continue its efforts towards success of peace process in Afghanistan.  As regards the issue of Durand Line and recent clashes between the Afghan and Pakistani forces, the president said that the Afghans never accepted the Durand Line and the sentiments of the Afghans after the clashes at the Goshta district has reached its high peak.
