
KANDAHAR (BNA) Work on the construction of a water dam in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar started Monday, officials at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock said.
The dam will provide water to thousands of acres of farmland along producing produce energy for hundreds of families in the future, according to the Ministry source.
Mawlawi Dadullah, head of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Kandahar, told BNA that the water dam will be built within three months with the financial assistance of the DRC organization.
The exploitation of the dam could lead to the prosperity of agriculture and the supply of electricity to the residents of the province, he added.
