Work Extraction of 43 Mine Starts in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR (BNA) Local officials of the Islamic Emirate in Nangarhar says job opportunities have been created for 2600 people following the start of work extraction of 43 mines in the province.

Head of Mines and Petroleum Mufti Abdul Hamid Akhundzadeh of Nangarhar, said that most of the mountains of the province, have precious, semi-precious minerals, marble, jasper, gypsum, nephrite, and other minerals that are currently being mined in these areas, and currently there are some mines legally contracted that monthly collects millions of incomes in the accounts of the government.

According to him, above 25,000 people are directly and indirectly recruited in these mines.

The head of the mines said that a ton of nephrite is worth 5.5 to 5.7 million Afghanis.

Akhundzadeh says illegal mining has been banned across Nangarhar, and opportunities provided for laborers, and investors.

Meanwhile, Haji Jahanzab Momand, head of the Angoor Taq nephrite mining company in the Kama district, said they were confidently operating in a safe environment.

In the meantime, several miners named Abdul Qahir, Allah Mohammad, Abdullah, and Bismillah expressed their happiness working in these mines and called on the officials of the Islamic Emirate to start other similar projects.
