Kabul (BNA) As a result of efforts of the Afghan National Defense and security forces and people uprising forces, Keran wa Manjaan districts of Badakhshan were recaptured yesterday morning, Ministry of interior spokesman Nasrat Rahimi told reporters at government media and information center.
“We are committed to making every effort to ensure security of the democratic and national process of the elections,” he said, adding operation is underway in Dushi area of Baghlan province, where enemy suffered heavy casualties and 240 of them killed and injured. “Efforts are also underway to open the public highway in the north as soon as possible. Pul-e-Khomri-Mazar road has been opened.”
According to MoI spokesman, as a result of ANDSF operations, the enemies have suffered heavy casualties and their key leaders have been killed.
“These operations have been carried out by ANDSF in cooperation with international forces, particularly in Baghlan, Kunduz, and Farah provinces, he added.
“ANDSF are more powerful than ever and have responded strongly to the enemy attacks. ANDSF have the capability to carry out offensive operations anywhere in the country,” he said. ANDSF have retreated from Yangi Qala and Darqad districts because the area was vulnerable. Operations are currently underway, and enemy is surrounded from all sides, and efforts are going on to not let the enemy escape,” Rahimi told reporters.
