First Indian Wheat Consignment arrived at Gate of Torkham

JALALABAD (BAN) The trend of transferring 50,000 tons of Indian aiding wheat to Afghans in need has started.

According to reports, the first consignment of this aiding wheat is on the route of Nangarhar Province.

The first consignment is 41 trucks with 2,500 tons of wheat that will enter Afghanistan through Pakistan and finally through the Torkham crossing border.

Harsh Vardhan Shringla; The Indian Foreign Minister said in a ceremony of transporting the first shipment of this wheat that the process of transferring these 50,000 tons of wheat to Afghanistan will take two to three months.

He said his country was still committed to aiding Afghan citizens in need.

Islamic Emirate officials have greeted India’s assistance to Afghanistan and called for the continuation of their support.

These 50,000 tons of wheat will be distributed to hundreds of thousands of needy families in Afghanistan.
