Flights Between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan Resume

Kabul (BNA) Flights between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan will resume in the near future.

The Minister of Civil Aviation and Transport of Afghanistan, in a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart, emphasized the resumption of flights between the two countries.

The meeting took place at Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport in Mazar-e-Sharif.

During the meeting, Hamidullah Akhundzada called the start of flights between Mawana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport and Uzbekistan Airports a good start for the resumption of relations between the two countries.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Transport said in a press release that the two sides stressed the urgent need to resume flights between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

They said the process of transferring passengers and commercial goods between the two countries by air would resume soon.

Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi International Airport is probably the first airport in Afghanistan to have the opportunity to resume aviation relations with Uzbekistan.

Following the overthrow of the previous government, Afghanistan’s land and air relations with neighboring countries and the world were suspended, but now this challenge is gradually being eliminated.

Airlines from Qatar, China, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran are now normalizing their flights to Afghanistan.
