FM Atmar, Afghan Merchants Discuss Trade Facilitation

Kabul (BNA) Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar met with a number of merchants and industrialists at the Foreign Ministry headquarters here yesterday, a MoFA statement said.

In the meeting, both sides discussed and exchanged views on easing business visas for travel to different countries and Afghan merchants’ access to the VIP section of the country’s airports and facilitating the process of documents related to the export and import of commercial goods in Afghan customs, the statement added.

FM Atmar emphasized the support of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for increasing exports and investments in the country and encouraged traders and industry owners to focus on establishing manufacturing and investment factories inside Afghanistan.

During the meeting, ways to expand the export of Afghan goods and products made in Afghanistan were discussed.

It was also agreed that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, and Industry and Commerce would form a committee to resolve the problems of the country’s merchants and industrialists, according to the statement.
