Kabul (BNA) Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar had a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and both sides discussed the development of bilateral cooperation and the Afghan peace process, according to a MoFA statement issued yesterday.
Expressing satisfaction with the two country’s relations and expanding it between the two governments and the nation, the Foreign Minister praised Iran’s effective role in the Afghan peace process, the statement added.
Emphasizing the preservation of the democratic achievements of the past two decades and its connection to lasting peace, Mohammad Javad Zarif reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s full support for the Afghan peace process.
Both sides also stressed the process of finalizing and signing a comprehensive document on strategic cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran in the near future.
