FM Muttaqi meets Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary-General

KABUL (BNA) Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi foreign minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan met Tariq Ali Bakheet, Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary General and Mohamed Alayach, head of the OIC office in Kabul.

Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary-General said that OIC member states support Afghanistan and prioritize the needs of the Afghan people and strengthened OIC Kabul office to meet better the situation of needy in this dire time.

At the same time, Muttaqi thanked them for traveling to Kabul to help the Afghan people and to assess the facts of the situation closely.

Muttaqi said: “It is gratifying that with the advent of the new government, the security situation in the country has improved so that charities, international aid organizations and foundations can better help the needy and there are no obstacles or dangers.”

Muttaqi also called on OIC member states to work for the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets.

Tariq Ali Bakheet said that they will strengthen their office in Kabul to do more and better work, adding that he will present a detailed report on Afghanistan to the next OIC meeting on which future decisions will be made. He will come to Kabul from time to time.
