Forty-Seven Taliban Killed in Kandahar Airstrike

Kandahar (BNA) Forty-seven armed Taliban were killed last night in airstrikes in Kandahar.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) told BNA that the Taliban were targeted and killed in airstrikes in Dand, Zheri Districts and surrounding of Kandahar.

Twenty-five other Taliban were wounded and a large amount of their weapons were destroyed in the attacks, the statement said.

According to another report, nine Taliban insurgents have been killed in the latest clashes with ANA commanders in Herat.

Fawad Aman, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, told BNA, Commando forces, backed by the air force, conducted operations in Injil, Guzara, Zawal Districts and central Herat, killing nine insurgents and wounding 18 others.
