Mohammad Sharif Nouri criminal Dept. police of Helmand was targeted by unidentified gunmen in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand yesterday.
Witnesses say the assailants were riding in a motorbike and fled after shooting.
Helmand security source in a contact with BNA, confirmed the assassination of Sharif Nouri, a criminal Dept. police officer in Helmand.
So far, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the assassination, but local sources have blamed the Taliban.
