Historic Monuments, Cultural Heritages Should be Protected & Preserved, MoIC

Kabul (BNA) Acting minister of information and culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair in a meeting attended by provincial directors of information and culture stressed that the country’s historic monuments and cultural heritages should be protected and preserved as pupil.

In the meeting held yesterday with participation of deputy ministers and officials of the ministry of information and culture, provincial directors of information and culture delivered their work reports, achievements and the past year activities.

Praising the provincial directors of information and culture for their works, acting minister of information and culture asserted that everybody could work a in quiet environment with lots of possibilities but what provincial directors of information and culture were serving would be honored.

Acting minister of information and culture recalled of the inconsiderable budget allocated to the MoIC, adding that less attention has been paid to the country’s culture sector and the MoIC was working to do more in this sector. “Despite of lack of budget, the ministry of information and culture is fully supporting the effective programs and works of the provincial information and culture departments,” Zuhair said.

Acting minister of information and culture by recalling of the country’s President support towards protection and renovation of a number of historic monuments and historic heritages asserted most historic monument and cultural heritages of the country needed further protection and renovation.

Considering the country’s historic monuments and cultural heritages as significant from the perspective of historic identification and economic importance, acting minister of information and culture stressed that these cultural and historic investments should be protected and preserved as pupil.

Afterwards, head of plan and policy of the ministry of information and culture Abdul Muqim Afghan by briefing related to the meeting’s goals said promotion of the culture of accountability and transparency and coordination between provincial departments of information and culture and central departments of the information and culture ministry, exchanging experiences and acquaintance of provincial directors and officials of the ministry’s central offices were a range of goals of the meeting. In the meeting, provincial directors of information and culture delivered the meeting their work reports, achievements and activities of the past year as well as their future plans and programs.
