IEA Prime Minister met Deputy PM of Uzbekistan

KABUL(BNA) Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umurzakov, and his accompanying delegation.

In addition the meeting attended by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Noorudden Azizi, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade. focuss economic and transit routs between the two countries.

receiving the delegation, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan called Uzbekistan a friend and brother country of Afghanistan and expressed hope that we would overcome the problems and work together to implement regional projects.

Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov said that Afghanistan is has an important regional geogarphy in connecting Central Asia and South Asia, and that the relevant departments of the two countries will take practical steps to implement joint projects and expand cooperation between the two countries in various Sectors .

Afterward, Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister, said Afghanistan and Uzbekistan has historical, cultural and religious commonalities. He added that the Islamic Emirate is ready for any cooperation due to the implementation of economic and transit projects between the two countries.

In the meeting, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, said “that the new policy of the Islamic Emirate is economy-oriented and we want to make Afghanistan a center of economic cooperation and regional connection.”

He stressed that according to the new policy of the Islamic Emirate, we want Afghanistan in the future not to be a arena for competition between major countries, but to become a center for regional and international cooperation.
