Maimana (BNA) A large car bridge was put into operation in the central city of Faryab.
The forty-eight-meter-long bridge, twelve and a half meters wide, has two round-trip lanes for vehicles and connects parts of the city to Garzivan, Pashtun Kot and Belcheragh districts.
The Ministry of Public Works says it spent 24 million Afghanis to build the bridge.
The ministry said in a newsletter that the construction of the bridge facilitated the movement of thousands of villagers and the transfer of agricultural products and patients.
