Kabul (BNA) Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mohammad Tahir Zuhair, in a meeting with UNESCO representative in Kabul on Thursday, emphasized beginning of the consolidation works on Jam minaret.
At the meeting which was also attended by directors of historical monuments and archaeology, the acting minister expressed concern over delay in consolidation works around Jam Minaret and the construction of the Bamyan Archaeological Park.
Minister Zuhair said that no practical steps taken regarding the two important projects, however, has said that the required budget has already been allocated to UNESCO since last two years.
Acting minister of Information and Culture reiterated that the consolidation work of Jam Minaret and the Bamyan Archaeological Park should begin in the coming Solar Year of 1400.
The representative of UNESCO in Afghanistan also assured the Ministry of Information and Culture that the institution will pay attention to the start of the mentioned projects in the beginning of coming Solar Year.
