Minister Zuhair Stresses Coordination on Mes-e-Aynak Ancient Sites

Kabul (BNA) In a meeting with Logar Governor Abdul Qayoum Rahimi, acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mohammad Tahir Zuhair stressed the importance of coordination between his-led ministry and the local government of Logar regarding Mes-e-Aynak ancient sites, Bakhtar Information Agency reported yesterday.

In the meeting, the governor of Logar briefed the acting minister about the ancient and historical sites of the province. He also called for coordination between the local government of Logar and the Ministry of Information and Culture regarding the ancient and historical sites of the province, especially the Mes-e-Aynak ancient sites.

The governor, as quoted by the agency, noted that the people of Logar were demanding the resumption of work on the ancient sites of Mes-e-Aynak, which has been suspended due to the outbreak of the Corona virus, so that to provide job opportunities for a number of people in the province.

The Acting Minister of Information and Culture considered historical monuments, archeological sites and cultural heritage among the valuable assets of Afghanistan and hinted at importance of coordination of Logar local government and the Ministry of Information and Culture on archeological and historical sites, especially on Mes Aynak ancient sites.

The acting minister also assured that the ministry was paying attention to addressing the demands of the people of Logar, according to the agency.
