Minister Zuhair, Wilson Discuss Cultural Cooperation

Kabul ( BNA) Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Tahir Zuhair met with Ross Wilson, Charge d’ Affaires of the US Embassy in Kabul on Thursday.
Wilson provided information about the embassy’s projects and collaborations, adding that the embassy has provided $47 million over the past 20 years to preserve historical monuments and archeological sites.
He also spoke about the activities of Lincoln Centers across Afghanistan and the effective role of these centers in education and emphasized the security of these centers. He also denounced killing of journalists in recent attacks.
Acting Minister of Information and Culture, in his speech, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the assistance and cooperation of the US Embassy in Kabul in preserving and restoring historical monuments and archeological sites. The Minister considered these centers effective in educating the young generation of the country.
Minister Zuhair also briefed on the recent steps of the Ministry of Information and Culture for the security of journalists and stressed the need to develop and strengthen cultural relations between the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the United States of America.
