Kabul (BNA) As many as 181 Taliban fighters were killed and 102 others were wounded during clashes and reciprocal attacks of Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) within the last 24 hours in 8 provinces.
Ministry of National Defense in a statement said, the terrorists have been targeted in various parts of Laghman, Paktia, Maidan/Wardak, Urozgan, Nimroz, Badghis, Sar-e-Pul and Helmand provinces.
Some heavy and light weapons and ammunitions belonged to the rebels have been seized by Afghan security forces.
Meanwhile, Afghan National Defense and Security Forces by discovering and confiscating 28 round of different type of mines succeeded to prevent several deadly incident in crowded areas of the mentioned provinces.
The mines have been planted by Taliban members to target innocent civilians and Afghan security troops, security officials said.
