MoRRD Assists Flood Affected Families in Nangarhar

Jalalabad (BNA) One day after the floods hit the Batikot district of Nangarhar, the process of providing relief to the injured began.
In the first instance, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development helped with dozens of floods affected families, basic necessities of life including tents, campgrounds, blankets and kitchen utensils.
Heavy rains flooded parts of Batekot district in Nangarhar on Tuesday night.
Ziaul-Haq Amarkhail, the governor of Nangarhar, told BNA, forty-five houses were destroyed and six others were partially damaged.
No casualties were reported in the floods.
The floods have displaced families who have lost their homes and are now need of shelter, food, medicine and money.
The governor of Nangarhar said he was trying to do more help to flood victims with the help of aid agencies.
Most flood victims live day and night in public places such as schools and mosques, waiting for the government and aid agencies to take over.
