KABUL (BNA) The head of National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA) of Islamic Emirate said in a meeting with director of Acbar Institution: “Climate change is a serious threat worldwide and Afghanistan cannot be safe from this phenomenon.”
The National Environmental Protection Agency said in a press release today: Dr. Zainul Abedin Abed, head of the National Environmental Protection Agency, along with Engineer Ezatullah Seddiqi, its professional deputy, with Lisa Piper, director of Acbar Institution for Development Assistance Met in Afghanistan.
In the meeting, the both sides discussed climate change, natural heritage, air pollution and other environmental issues.
In this meeting, the head of the National Environmental Protection Agency said: Afghanistan is a war-torn country where four decades of war in this country, in addition to casualties; It has also left serious environmental damage, and along with establishment of the Islamic government, peace and security have been advent new rule, transparency and sincerity for honest work have been established, and this office is ready for any kind of cooperation with national and international bodies to implement Environmental projects.
Abed added: “Climate change is a serious threat worldwide and Afghanistan cannot be safe from this threat.” We call on the world to cooperate with Afghanistan in the face of climate change phenomenon.
Engineer Ezatullah Seddiqi, the deputy professional, also led the technical team to share their environmental plans with the Acbar Institution so that they could use them in their plans and projects.
The director of Acbar Institute said: “This institute is active in the development of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and we are trying to obtain and implement environmental projects from around the world.”
Ms. Piper stressed that the institute is ready to cooperate with the National Environmental Protection Agency.
