NPC Approves 6 Projects

Kabul (BNA) Chaired by Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic of Afghanistan, the National Procurement Commission (NPC) held meeting at the Presidential Palace the other day, a statement from his office said.
In the meeting, 6 contracts worth Afg 490mln have been approved which are including, procurement process of one million copies of digitalized passport, dormitories’ expenditures, ministry of defense construction affairs, etc., the statement further said.
Termination of contracts for Almar, Machalgho and Pashdan dams have been also confirmed, the statement added.
The NPC tasked the ministry of water and energy to step up on new procurement process of the mentioned dams. Likewise, the session decided to find the contracted companies that has neglected in their works, according to the conditions mentioned in the contracts, the statement quoted the president office as saying.
The commission rejected the construction contract of a wall around Balkh Custom Department and the procurement process of 47 kinds of necessary medicines for the Pharmacy Department and decided to review the ministry of public health contracts by an authorized delegation, the statement continued.
The NPC approved the suggestion of the ministry for education for transferring its offices from Kart-e-Char and Afshar areas to Golbahar Center.
Second Vice President, Sarwar Danesh, ministers of finance and justice, acting minister of economy and other related officials were present in the meeting, the statement concluded.
