NPC Meeting: President Instructs Officials to Consider Security Sector Projects

Kabul (BNA) Presidential Palace in a statement on Monday said that 79 procurement issues were discussed at the meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, held on Saturday evening.

“Projects related to foodstuffs, incendiaries, clothes and machinery required by the National Defense and Security Forces, procurement of oxygens for Qasabah and Ahmad Shah Baba Mina hospitals in Kabul and provision of necessary medicines for the central hospitals of the Ministry of Public Health were discussed and approved,” the statement added.

Meanwhile the 220 KV power line transmission project from Hashemi Bridge to Shindand and 220 KV transmission line from Shindand to Farah related to Breshna Company as well as projects related to reconstruction of Shahrwan and Momen Aabad water canals in Takhar related to Water Regulatory Authority were also discussed and approved by the meeting, the statement added.

The meeting also approved asphalting 10.43Km road from Ghor airport to the center of the province, the statement further said.

While praising the heroism and courage of the country’s security and defense forces, the President seriously instructed the relevant departments to timely consider and prioritize the projects of the mentioned sector.

The meeting was attended by members of the National Procurement Commission, officials of the National Procurement Office and observers of the House of Representatives, the statement concluded.
