Pakistan Accused of No Cooperation Counterterrorism

Saturday, August 30, 2014
Kabul (BNA) Spokesperson to National Directorate of Security (NDS) has accused Pakistan of no cooperation towards counterterrorism.
Speaking to journalists in a news conference on Wednesday, the NDS spokesman Haseeb Sediqi asserted that Afghanistan is dissatisfied with Pakistan cooperation towards counter terrorism.
“NDS has previously submitted information to Pakistan officials related to presence of terrorists in that country’s soil, but the country’s intelligence by changing the terrorists’ location and address has tried to make our intelligence information invaluable,” he said.
The NDS spokesman’s statements were made in answer to statements made by Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister in a meeting with Afghanistan ambassador to Islamabad. Aziz had said if Afghanistan had information and documents proving Pakistan interference in Afghanistan affairs and submitted them to Pakistan side, they would discuss related to the documents.
Nevertheless, Afghan security officials say Sartaj Aziz has no ability and authorization to review the documents because Pakistan militaries have kept Sartaj Aziz and similar figures inside line related incidents to Afghanistan and Taliban.
