Police Drivers To Be Punished If Violate Rule

Kabul (BNA) The interior ministry has warned police drivers to respect driving rules and regulations, otherwise, the violators to be punished.
The aim of imposing this restriction is to apply the traffic law on police personnel, interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi said. The decision, according to the people has been taken in the wake of road accidents by police drivers.
According to statistics, the police drivers have been involved in 50 cases of road accidents over the past three months.
Sacking from police rank, fine and referring to court are among the punishments considered for police drivers who violate the driving rule, Sediqi said, adding police mobile teams patrolling the roads to monitor driving rules violated by police.
He also said that police have intensified operations against kidnapping and drug trafficking.
According to interior ministry officials some 40,000 Afghans have been smuggled abroad through Turkey and unfortunately some of them lost their lives on way to Greece.
