Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with Deborah Lyons, the UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan on Sunday afternoon at the Presidential Palace, a statement said yesterday.
UNAMA’s Deborah Lyons presented a report to the President of Afghanistan and highlighted the latest efforts of the United Nations in Afghanistan peace process, according to presidential palace statement.
President Ghani reciprocally articulated the preferences and views of the government and people of Afghanistan regarding peace with consideration to the current context and the new chapter of relations.
President Ghani, as quoted in the statement, asked the international partners particularly the United Nations to align their efforts and perspectives in the peace process with new realities and the new chapter of cooperation between Afghanistan and the international community.
