President Ghani Praises NATO’s Chief of Staff Works in Afghanistan

Kabul (BNA) The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani conferred a high military medal during a farewell meeting to Lt. Gen. Thorsten Poschwatta, chief of staff for the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, according to statement.

In a ceremony held on Saturday evening at the presidential palace, Fatemeh Morchel, deputy spokeswoman, first readout President Ghani’s decree in this regard, according to the statement from the presidential press office.

President Ghani, as quoted in the statement, praised the efforts and valuable services of Lt. Gen. Thorsten Poschwatta in advising and strategically supporting the Afghan security and defense forces.

On the other hand, Lt. Gen. Thorsten Poschwatta described his work with the security and defense forces and his mission in Afghanistan as a good experience and thanked the President for awarding him the medal, the statement concluded.
