President Ghani Stresses Digitalization of Agricultural Sector

Kabul (BNA) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani attended evening prayer with members of the Board of the Federation of Afghan Chambers and discussed with them regarding investment opportunities and economic stability in the country, a presidential palace statement added.

First, the President and members of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Afghan Chambers expressed their support for the republican system and the position of the President in relation to peace, saying that “we are ready to cooperate with the Government of Afghanistan to strengthen and develop infrastructures.”

They also briefed the president on improvement of the mining, trade, agriculture, industry and transport sectors, according to the statement.

After listening to them, President Ghani said that without digitalization, agriculture could not turn into industry and help grow the other sectors. He urged De Afghanistan Bank to digitize banks and invest more in the value chain, adding that it would meet with the Afghan Chambers Federation once a month to address their concerns.

While praising the achievements of the private sector, the President called on the members of the Federation of Afghan Chambers to set up private and state-owned joint ventures to take joint action to address problems and challenges.

At the end of his speech, President Ghani pointed out that the tariffs should be reviewed and the problems of the transport unions should be solved and given more support, and serious measures should be taken in the area of ​​customs reform.
